No matter how many hours I spend researching and listening to music, there's always one or two bands that slips through the cracks and I somehow miss on my radar. Well, I'm embarrassed to say that The Holy Mess was one of those bands. But what's more lame than discovering this band now is learning that they've already broken up.
In fact, the band had this say on their Twitter account just a few weeks ago:
“Hey everyone! These last 10 years have been a blast. But like all great fucking things, it must, at some time, come to an end. Thank you if you helped with a show, bought merch, let us sleep on your floor, or got us ripped drunk or hella stoned. We love you. Thank you to Toby Jeg and Brendan Kelly for their support through the years. Thank you to everyone involved at AF RECORDS. To our friends bands that let us tag along for killer shows throughout the years thank you. You know who you are. Steveo has his Crippling Addictions, and Jeff has his Bella Vista Social Club. Go see them play shows if they’re ever in your area. The list of people that had a hand in this band surviving on a somewhat professional level is 16 miles long. We appreciate everything. T H M 2006-2016″
These Philly punks left behind 3 full-length albums and a slew of EP's, with the latest being Trash Age, which was released earlier this year. So, if you're head was in the sand for the past few years, like mine, make up for lost time now by listening to "Within the Range of a Raven" below. That is all.
